"Before you get a dog, you can’t quite imagine what living with one might be like; afterward, you can’t imagine living any other way." -Caroline Knapp
Our Story
Our story begins long before we ever owned our first dog. Hello, we are Tom and Nicole Doll. Growing up we always had dogs. I grew up with primarily Standard Poodles, and experienced litters of puppies several times over the years. Tom grew up with several different breeds, mostly rescues, and did not have the dog breeding, and puppy raising experience. No matter the breed, or experience, we were both instilled with a love for dogs, and their companionship from a young age. We are now sharing that same passion and experience with our kids; instilling in them a deep love for, interest in, and appreciation for the companionship a family dog provides.
Kindred Kennels began in 2012 when we got our first dog. As newlyweds Tom and I didn't waste any time finding the perfect fit for our family. The apartment felt empty without a 4-legged companion, the end of the bed too cold, and the crumbs on the floor didn't "take care of themselves." We welcomed Bella, a black abstrsct F2 goldendoodle into our hearts and home. You know what they say about dogs being like potato chips; you can't have just one... So a year later we added Molly, a cream F1b goldendoodle to our hearts and home. A couple years, a house, and our oldest daughter later, our hearts desired to add another furry companion to our family. Enter Murphy, a purebred Bernese Mountain Dog. He and our daughter, (18mos at the time) developed an inseparable bond. When Murphy was of age, Molly and Murphy blessed us with four individual litters of Golden Mountain Doodles. Adding to the wonderful dog experiences our then two, kids participated in. As Molly neared the end of her puppy-rearing days, and looked forward to living out her retirement as our local couch-potato, we added Remmy, a Sable Parti Standard Poodle to our hearts and home. Remmy fufilled a lifelong desire in my heart to "go back to my roots" to embrace the love, intelligence, and wit a Standard Poodle provides. After adding one more child to our bunch, we figured it was Remmy's turn to experience motherhood, and she welcomed her first litter of AKC Standard Poodle pups. Bella, Molly, and Murphy are soaking up the roles of retired, loving aunts and uncle, as they attentively watch and dote on the pups as they would their own.
